Capoliveri Bike Park
One hundred and fifty kilometres of trails
For several decades now, Capoliveri has been the centre of mountain biking on the Island of Elba thanks to the many trails - dirt roads and paths - that run along the vast Monte Calamita area behind the town, all of which are very well signposted and maintained by the Capoliveri Bike Park.
Considered one of the three most beautiful areas for cycling in the world, in 2021 Capoliveri was chosen as the venue for the Italian Championships and the World Mountain Bike Championships, and every year it hosts the Legend Cup, an event that brings together thousands of enthusiasts.
The trails vary in difficulty - from the easiest to the most difficult black trails - totalling about 150 kilometres, all of which are great fun to ride and suitable for both e-bikes and muscle-powered mountain bikes.
The defining feature is the beauty of the place you pass through, which ranges from pine forests to Mediterranean maquis, from ancient open-air iron mines to beaches where you can stop for refreshments, always flanked by beautiful seas and the view of Montecristo on the horizon.
